Driving Exam Procedures

1. Youth will conduct a safety check prior to mounting the tractor.
2. Youth will properly mount the tractor including using the steps and hand holds.
3. Following safe starting procedures and given the approval from the instructor, he or she will drive the tractor and implement out of the implement shed. From the implement shed the youth will pull forward and start the driving course.
4. The youth will drive forward down the lane until reaching the intersection marked with a stop sign. At the stop sign, the youth will stop as if at an actual intersection. After scanning for traffic and having a clear intersection, the youth will pull forward to position the tractor and implement for the serpentine section of the course.
5. After completing the serpentine, the youth will drive the tractor and implement back to the implement shed. The youth will back the implement into the shed, shut the tractor off and properly dismount.
