Safety and Health on Wisconsin Dairy Farms:What Every Farm Woman Should
Know
Order a copy of this video
This is not a typical farm safety video, covering lists of hazards and
unsafe situations. Rather, the purpose of this video is to empower women
to be proactive in the prevention of injuries and illnesses on their farms.
It is suitable for women from any type of farm in any state.
The video is designed as a woman-to-woman message, with real people
(primarily women) speaking from their hearts.
It is intended to be viewed and discussed in a group setting, and is
divided into five modules covering major points:
Farm injuries are a serious problem on Wisconsin farms.
Farm hazards must be controlled.
Child safety must be addressed.
Safety issues must be discussed.
Preventing injuries means taking action.
Modules can be viewed individually, with time ranging from 8 to 13 minutes.
Total video length is 52 minutes. A brief discussion guide is included.
The video was produced in 1996, but the issues are still current.
In Wisconsin, this video may be borrowed from the agricultural agent
or family living agent at county UW-Extension offices. The video is also
available at county health departments or through Wisconsin Farm Bureau
Women's Committee leaders.
